1. What's an Electric Brake Controller?

A: An electric brake controller is a unit mounted inside the cabin of your vehicle which controls the power to the electric drum brakes on your caravan.

2. How do I know if I need an Electric Brake Controller?

A: If your caravan or camper trailer weighs over 749kg it is required to have brakes fitted, unless they are override brakes, you will reqiure an Electric Brake Controller to operate the brakes.

3. What Electric Brake Controller do I need?

A: Their are various makes and models on the market however Adventure 4x4 & Auto Electrics highly recommend an inertia based unit such as the Tekonsha P3 or Redarc Towpro as they are very smooth in their operation and easy to use.

The older time delay units should be avoided as they are very clunky and can cause unecessary brake lockups.
